So…
I have no clue what I’m going to write about.
I thought I’d show up at my desk and tell you about it.
Today is my first day back home after 6 weeks traveling and doing the whole #workwithaview in Greece.
…
Feels like a dream already.
And that is what it was.
A dream.
For 3 weeks I was living my dream life. For real.
I was alone in a house by the sea.
Working.
Reading.
Relaxing.
Walking on the beach and rocks.
Eating whatever and whenever I felt like it.
Reading.
My dream life.
A few years ago I mapped out my dream life.
“When I’m successful, when my online business is finally thriving, I’ll go spend a few weeks at a time by various beaches and seafronts and work with a view. I want to live like locals for a while in various locations. Then I’ll come back home for a couple of months and do it again somewhere else later. I don’t want to buy another house. I’ll be staying at amazing rented places all over the world.”
Well…
I just did.
Exactly that.
And, cherry on top.. The house was free!
And what is the BIGGEST lesson of that, except for the joy and gratitude and excitement that I felt during that stay?
That my dream life does not have to wait.
That first part, the “when I’m successful, when my online business is finally thriving” .. . That part hadn’t happened BEFORE I started living the dream…
I just decided to do it. To begin, Where and how I was. Not waiting for some elusive tomorrow anymore. Just going for it. And making it happen.
It felt soooo good. To dare. To find my courage and leap.
And … wait for it, because that is the BEST news I have for you…
DURING that stay, my business actually took off.
I’m not going to pretend that there was nothing going on before. I’m not going to lie and call it a quantum leap. Before that stay, I had been working consistently on my online business for over a year…and incrementally seeing progress…
But DURING that “dream life” stay… THAT is when my business took off. For real.
That is when my business became “successful”.
And so I laugh.
At myself.
For having forgotten, once again, the golden rule, the major law of the Universe.
Like energy attracts like energy. The Law of Attraction.
Which implies that I HAVE TO start feeling successful BEFORE it happens “out there”.
That feeling, the energy of whatever I desire IS me “doing the work”.
Way more than the whole agitating, hustling, striving, trying, inventing, creating, working and the like…
So here I come again to remind myself.
And you.
Start with the feeling.
Start with the energy.
Start with the joy.
Do WHATEVER it takes to feel it.
TODAY.
Dig, search, hunt, forage, seek your everyday life for each spark of joy, each atom of confidence, each trace of feeling good, each glint of delight, each flash of bliss, each twinkle of glee.
And blow on it until it catches fire.
Cultivate it until it bursts in blossom.
Tend to it until it flourishes.
Nurture it until it thrives and fills your heart and body and Soul with joy and bliss and confidence and good feelings.
And the rest will follow.
ALL the rest will follow.
So fast you wouldn’t believe it if I told you.
I’m not suggesting you “fake it until you make it” here.
What I’m proposing is that we spend every available energy you have to FOCUS on the joy, however small.
Then pamper it, celebrate it, relish in it, however small…
And trust that the rest (whatever “rest” you are dreaming of) is on its way.
At the speed of Light.
Once we find our joy, once we allow the best, once we trust it’s on its way… There it is.
But, says you, always doubtful, dear reader, what if I have no joy in my life?
Liar, liar, pants on fire, says I.
Start thinking about the little (or not so little but oh! so neglected) awesome things…
Electricity brings me joy these days, it allows me to shower in hot water and to write to you…
The alphabet brings me joy…
The sunshine…
My computer…
The amazing color of my jumper…
Lying in bed after a shower when I’ve just changed the sheets…
And the like …
These are the embers I blow on every day to build up my fire of joy and bliss.
Now…
If you’d rather hang on to the story of your unhappiness, of your unsuccess, of your victim status…
If you’d rather be right about this than try a different way…
You WILL find you are right. You will find no joy. You will experience no change.
I’m truly sorry.
And I’m not the mentor for you.
