The Season of Becoming: Spring, the Maiden, and the Art of Self-Care

There’s something undeniable about spring.

A subtle pulse beneath the soil. A whisper in the wind that says “Come back to life now.” Buds push through branches, green things reclaim forgotten corners, and suddenly the sun is flirting with us again. After months of quiet (or chaos), something in us stirs and stretches. We want to begin again.

Spring is more than a season; it's an invitation. And if we tune in a little, we’ll notice: it hums with Maiden energy.

The Maiden Returns: Innocent, Wild, and Wonder-Filled

The Maiden archetype, that mythic embodiment of youth, dynamic energy, curiosity, and unshaped potential, dances hand-in-hand with spring. She’s the part of us that still believes in magic, that dreams without deadlines, that says “Why not?” just before she leaps.

She doesn’t have all the answers (and doesn’t pretend to). She explores for the joy of exploring. She doesn’t push or force or plan too far ahead. She just... follows the scent of blooming things and trusts her feet to find the way.

This is a season to remember her.

The part of you who once sang into hairbrushes and made daisy chains.

The part of you who wasn’t afraid to try something new, even if it meant falling flat on her face.

The part of you who still lives inside you, tapping at your ribs when life gets too rigid.

Blossoming from the Inside Out

Nature isn’t the only one blooming. You are, too.

This is your time to notice:

What’s sprouting inside you?

What dreams are ready to be watered?

Which parts of yourself want to be brought out into the sun?

The blossoming of spring isn’t always loud. Sometimes it looks like taking a deep breath and starting again, quietly. Other times it’s a full-on creative explosion. Either way… it counts.

Let the flowers be your reminder: you don’t have to bloom like anyone else.

Self-Care, But Make It Seasonal (and Sensual)

Now, let’s talk about self-care. Not the kind sold in pink bottles with glittery labels. I’m talking real self-care. The kind that feeds your spirit, nourishes your body, and makes your inner Maiden giggle with delight.

Here are a few spring-aligned self-care ideas to try on:

  • 1. Gentle Nourishment

Think greens, herbs, fresh air, and sunlight. Feed yourself like you’re a seedling just coming into the world. Warm broths, fresh herbs, slow mornings with tea, whatever helps you feel rooted and ready to grow.

  • 2. The Maiden’s Intuition

Your body knows things. Spring is the perfect time to tune in and listen. What does your body want more of? What is it quietly asking you to stop doing? Let intuitive self-care lead the way, dance when you feel joy, rest when you feel heavy, cry when you need to water your soul.

  • 3. Play as Medicine

Play isn’t childish. It’s holy. It’s how we remember who we are beyond roles and responsibilities. Reclaim joy just for the sake of it: doodle, swing, write a silly poem, jump in puddles. Your inner Maiden is dying for a play-date.

  • 4. Spring Cleaning (But for the Soul)

Declutter your calendar. Unsubscribe from other people’s expectations. Let go of guilt that’s past its expiration date. You can even make a little ritual out of it: write down what you’re releasing, and burn it, bury it, or whisper it into the wind.

  • 5. The Art of Doing Nothing

Seriously. Try just sitting outside. Not reading. Not scrolling. Just being. Let the sun kiss your skin. Let the breeze flirt with your hair. Rest isn’t laziness, it’s essential photosynthesis for humans.

  • 6. Your Spring Self-Care Manifesto

Write it. Speak it. Declare it. Even if it’s short and sweet.

Something like: “This spring, I choose joy. I choose rest. I choose blooming on my own damn timeline.”

The Inner Wild: Maiden as Explorer

Don’t be fooled by the flowers, the Maiden isn’t just soft and giggly. She’s also wild. Bold. She walks into the unknown without a map. She makes mistakes, gathers stories, learns through experience.

Spring asks us to do the same. To step outside of what’s known. Try something new. Take a creative risk. Say yes to what lights you up, even if it doesn’t make perfect sense (yet).

Let the season be your compass, not your calendar.

So, what now?

Nothing urgent. No pressure. Just an invitation.

To unfurl.

To explore.

To bloom.

To take care of the you that’s just starting to wake up again.

Spring isn’t a command. It’s a promise.

That what’s been buried isn’t gone.

It’s just been gathering strength.

So go ahead, step outside.

Feel the shift.

Let something new begin.

You don’t have to know exactly what it is yet.

The Maiden sure doesn’t.

She’s too busy dancing barefoot through the daffodils.

As for me, my Maiden took me … to Paris! I might share a little about this exquisite trip later but for now, I can tell you that the explorer and adventurer in me had a fabulous time!

But of course, spring doesn’t last forever.

Just as the Maiden begins to stretch her wings, the seasons turn again, and so do we. The playful, exploring energy of spring gives way to the ripening, rooted power of summer. Enter: the Mother.

Where the Maiden dances barefoot through wildflowers, the Mother lays down blankets beneath fruit-heavy trees. She is nourishment embodied. She’s no longer asking, “What do I want to become?”, she’s in the full bloom of being. She is growth and abundance, boundaries and devotion, presence and care.

And just like the Maiden, she needs her own kind of self-care.

Summer self-care is deeper, more intentional. It’s about tending what we’ve planted. It’s about protecting our energy. It's about being fully here for the richness of life without burning out in the heat.

Which brings me to something special…

🌿Sacred Self-Care and Peace in French Fields🌿

A sacred pause. A luscious exhale. Just for you.
This summer, I’m inviting women like you, beautifully blooming, tired of giving from empty cups, ready for reconnection, to gift themselves the true self-care they deserve.
This isn’t just a retreat. It’s a seasonal reset. A moment out of time to honour your body, your heart, your rhythm.
Think slow mornings, deep nourishment, guided rituals, nature, laughter, naps, and space. Space to remember who you are when no one is asking you to be anything else.
You’ve made it through winter. You’ve stirred awake in spring. Now it’s time to root into your own lush, sovereign summer.

Let the Maiden bring you there.

Let the Mother hold you.

Let yourself receive.

Details below… you can already whisper yes to yourself.

Let’s walk this sacred path together!
